Arlington City Zoning Meeting September 18, 2013 - We lost the battle - but we will win the war!

Tonight the City of Arlington gave XTO the green light to install a 2 million gallon above ground frac water pool at the drill site on the corner of Eden Road and Matlock Rd.
Motion was approved by smith, not sure who seconded the motion.  4 in favor 3 against, 1 abstain.

What I said tonight:
Good Evening Comissioners,
1.  My neighbors and I have firsthand knowledge of the dismal state of the neighborhood which has been invaded by this industrial gas processing plant.  Also, we have evidence of the deterioration of the infrastructure of roads, sidewalks, and houses.  Also, we have proof of drill mud contamination from horizontal drilling.  Mr. Nicholson has presented  evidence pointing to the fact that our family, friends, and neighbors are dying early deaths due their close proxmimity to this industrial process.
2. I'm sure that you all know this, seeing as how it is your job, and none of this was done in a corner somewhere. But I say this here, just so it is on the record and so you can understand why we the people so vehemently oppose this new effort.  It may seem like a small thing to you - add this innocuous above ground frac pond to an existing site - but it is definately not.
3.  Let me explain why - We aren't discussing a frac pond here, we are discussing allowing a known bad operator to expand the range of their influence in our community.  There will be more opportunities for XTO to damage, spill, pollute. Each time they put up a well, take it down, put it up, take it down, they impact the community. We need to tell them NO.  We don't want you here.  In fact, we want you to stop drilling and move back out of our community and leave us alone to pick up the pieces and start the healing and stop the death!
If you don't, then 10 years from now we Arlington will be a polluted destroyed industrial ghetto, mark my words.
For these reasons and more, I ask you to Deny SUP -08032R2.
This pool is not temporary!  it can be here as long as XTO is here!
XTO should at least buy all the neighbors flood insurance.

How do you keep out mosquitos?  If you treat it, its chemically treated water.  It will
increase humidity and mosquito's in the area, which can be deadly.  More people will be dying.

XTO's Response:
1.  We are heavily Regulated (yeah right).  By the City Arlington - OSHA, EPA
2.  Offered to meet with the residents so we better understand it.
3.  Gas well ordinance is responsible (except for the people its killing)
4.  Will operate responsibly (lie lie lie lie lie)
Walter Dueease was asked:
Is this type of temporary pool used in other areas?  Rose pad site at 287 and Warnell.
Also used at Sue Barnett, where they violated the truck route.
Also used in S. Texas and West Texas.

So, we lost the battle.  What are we going to do?  We are going to put before the city council a proposition to put an indefinite moratorium on all drilling within Arlington.

Speak up - do you like getting sick?  Does the ten bucks you are getting royalties pay for your foundation problems?

I took some pictures of “one” of the sink holes in my neighborhood that I noticed after drilling came in. An Atmos gas man looked at the sinkhole near my mother-in-laws home across the street from me and mentioned the two foundation issues witht he homes he owns that appeared after drilling came into his neighborhood. One has to wonder about the water main breaks....council will never admit to health effects and property damages..they may all start voting another way from now on?

I'd love to be able to see those photos, if you can email them to me or send us the link to them! I don't have any sinkhole photos in my collection.
